We provide foster care services with the goal of supporting families and preventing removing children from their homes. We offer a variety of client-focused services and support to children and families. Learn more about each of our programs below.

  • We provide a safe place for at-risk children, focusing on skill development and preventive strategies to combat the effects of abuse or neglect. Our Out of Home Foster Care Program offers stable, nurturing and trauma informed homes for children up to age 19, employing a comprehensive approach that includes safe housing, personalized therapy, and strong family connections aimed at reunification, adoption, guardianship, or preparing for independent living. Treatment plans are designed collaboratively, integrating feedback from youths, their families, and care professionals, to promote psychological growth and healing while maintaining essential family ties.

Committed to the well-being of children, families, and the broader community, we advocate for active family participation in all aspects of care and pursue permanent solutions when children cannot remain with their parents. Our efforts extend into the community, aiming to educate and harness local resources to support our mission, embodying the belief that raising a child requires a collective effort. Through these initiatives, we strive for quick and lasting resolutions for the children and families we serve, ensuring transitions to less restrictive environments are smooth and supported.

  • Apex Family Care provides In-Home Services aimed at bolstering at-risk families by enhancing parental skills, fostering community ties, building healthy relationships, and paving the way for independent living. Our goal is to mitigate the need for children to be placed outside their homes by proactively identifying and addressing family challenges that could lead to a child's removal. Our array of services includes supervised visitation, which is tailored to meet specific family needs and is focused on improving parental abilities, ensuring family safety, and nurturing positive interactions.

Additionally, Apex offers intensive in-home support and family support services geared toward preventing removal or facilitating a child's return by overcoming familial barriers. This support encompasses educational strategies to enhance family dynamics, adherence to safety protocols, 24-hour crisis intervention, and clinical support aimed at boosting functioning in social, community, and health-related aspects. Our work is guided by tools like the North Carolina Family Assessment Scale and the Adult Adolescent Parenting Inventory, alongside the Nurturing Parenting Program, which together assess and address family functioning and parenting skills, underscoring our commitment to the well-being of children and families and leveraging community resources for effective support.
