FOSTER CARE REVIEW OFFICE OVERVIEW & COLLABORATION

Link to registration form

Description: This training is approximately 45 minutes to an hour in length, with around 30 minutes of information provided with time for questions following the presentation. This training will be offered via Zoom and will be provided by System Oversight Specialist, Jennifer Jolley, who has been with the FCRO since 2008 and Chloe Stevens, who has been with the FCRO since 2023. Both presenters have case management and DHHS/child welfare experience prior to their employment with the FCRO.

This training will offer a brief history of the FCRO, why we were put in place by the Legislature, our current role in the child welfare system in Nebraska and the structure of our agency/local boards. Primarily, though, the training will focus on our review process (from how cases are assigned to the final product following review), collaboration with foster parents and foster care agency staff and how they play a role in our reviews, what information we look for and how the information provided by foster parents/foster care staff is critical to our review of a child. Finally, we will share a little bit about our data and how that information is evaluated and utilized by various system partners.
